@bstonercpa @PurpGoldLakers Lakers couldn't beat fully healthy young athletic teams ever since Luka got there. Go back and look at their wins. They beat teams that were missing key players or teams that were tanking.

Depends on how good the one way is (great) vs how bad the other way is (not nearly as bad as fans think if they are played correctly in the defensive scheme and surrounded with some defensive talent.) In Lakers' toughest month last year (Feb 28 -March 31; 18 games) Everyone was mostly healthy and they went 16-2 against a good cross-section of teams and were dominant offensively and top 10 defensively. Adding around Austin, Luka, LeBron, Smart, Kennard could make them competitive vs OKC, Spurs, Detroit.

So the most they could probably offer him is $164m 4 yrs. Lakers could pay 5 yr 176 - 200m and still easily beat any of them since 3 of the 4 are tanking teams, and Atlanta isn't close to the Lakers as a competitor. NICE ARTICLE, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Lakers will not let him get away.
