Last year, Thames Water dumped sewage in the Emmbrook for the equivalent of six and a half days straight. I have yet again called on the Government to put billpayers and the environment first by introducing mutual ownership of water companies. The Government must act, and fast.

Between 1970 and the early 1990s, around 30,000 people in the UK were infected with hepatitis C, HIV, or both, through contaminated blood. On behalf of affected residents, I’ve urged the Government to clarify whether the spouses of those affected will also receive compensation.

The infected blood scandal is a tragic disaster and a failure of public service. The Government must ensure it never happens again. That’s why I’ve called for a legal obligation for healthcare professionals to be transparent with patients and families when something goes wrong.

Two years on from the 2024 General Election, it's still the honour of a lifetime to be Wokingham's first ever Liberal Democrat MP. Thank you for your trust and support. It's a privilege to serve our community, and I'm looking forward to continuing to work for you.

Nearly 1000 families of children with special educational needs are supported by Camp Mohawk, a life-changing charity based in Wargrave. Spread across 5 acres, I visited their huge range of indoor and outdoor facilities which encourage children to thrive and families to relax.

On Armed Forces Day, the country shows our support and gratitude for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community. To all currently serving personnel, reservists, veterans, cadets, and the military families who support them - we thank you for your service.

I've supported some fantastic events raising money for local charities, including the Winnersh Summer Fete and the Wokingham Lions' Classic Motor Show. I asked also asked Keir Starmer to back my cancer care accountability Bill. Here is what else I have done this week:

Small and medium enterprises in Wokingham and across the UK are doing their best to grow despite what many see as a lack of government support. The Minister is right to agree that the Government must do more. I will continue standing up for Wokingham’s businesses until they do.

Back in February, I kick started my Wokingham’s Best Pub campaign to support the fantastic network of pubs in our community. I’m delighted that the Leader of the House joined me in celebrating The Two Poplars' win, and I look forward to welcoming him for a pint in Wokingham.

Of the 650 MPs in Parliament, I was lucky to be drawn as number 15 in the ballot to put forward a Private Member's Bill. My Bill would make it mandatory for the Government to update Parliament yearly on its progress in delivering the targets set out in the National Cancer Plan.

A decade after the Conservatives' botched Brexit deal, Wokingham residents are still paying the price. While Nigel Farage pocketed a £5m 'reward' for the damage he's caused, British people are bearing the brunt. It's time to end the chaos and repair our relationship with Europe.

Winnersh Parish Council put on another fantastic summer fair this year, bringing together local charities and businesses including Kaleidoscopic UK and Club India. It was a pleasure to meet many other groups who came together to raise funds for our community.

It was a privilege this week to support the inaugural Prevention of Violence Against Women and Girls Awards reception in Westminster. We must continue to recognise the extraordinary work of individuals and charities championing the safety of women and girls in this country.

In Armed Forces Week, I joined MPs and military personnel at the Speaker of the House of Commons' Flag Raising Ceremony to show support for the Armed Forces Community. To all serving troops, veterans, cadets and their families, thank you for your sacrifice and dedication.

Reforming Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision is essential to improving outcomes for children and families in Wokingham. Yesterday, I asked the Minister what powers local authorities will have to ensure that multi-academy trusts deliver local SEND plans.

In the last week, I joined many residents at a fantastic painting competition, visited 2 local pubs, and met with local GPs. In Parliament, I raised concerns about foreign influence, and introduced a bill to deliver cancer care progress. Here's what else I have done this week:

Grassroots clubs are the heart of many communities - like Wokingham Town FC - and bring so many of us together. Yet many clubs struggle to fund equipment and facilities. I urged the Gov to bring grassroot sports governing bodies together yearly, to advocate for community clubs.
