Drop off charges at UK airports - what’s your thoughts? Airports around the world offer free time to drop off but UK airports increase fees at up to 25%. #travel #airportparking #airports

I questioned Leam Richardson his substitutions of Aston Villa loanee Kadan Young and, Brighton loanee Kamari Doyle - considering they were the best two attacking players against Port Vale. In blunt terms they were 'struggling'. #readingfc readingchronicle.co.uk/sport/25892882…

@readingfclens Same in any businesses if you move jobs you bring those who you know and trust if they will come and create your new team around them. The rest of the team are new to you as a new boss so you create your culture by osmosis. New blood will come when the time and culture is right.

Is the criteria for our signings “only players who have been managed by Leam Richardson” ? #readingfc

@Gatwick_Airport @DadTaxi1 @easyJet Time for change, around 100 departing flights between 05:00 & 09:00 when public transport is really tough to get for check in It’s just a money grab, congestion it isn’t, sustainablity it isn’t with 40,000 car park spaces that you want filled so why is drop off less sustainable?

@DadTaxi1 @easyJet reduces congestion and funds a number of sustainable transport initiatives. It also plays a role in encouraging more passengers and staff to use public transport to reach the airport. Thanks, Grace

@LondonCityAir So disappointing that you have joined the rest of the UK airports cash grab. Public transport is good if you live close to a DLR station or a bus stop & don’t have to check in by 06:00. @TheBTAorg charter for drop offs needs to be adopted by all UK airports.

On 6th January 2026, London City Airport will introduce a drop-off charge. The charge will be £8.00 for 0-5 minutes then £1 minute for any additional minutes, with a maximum stay of 10 minutes. Blue badge holders will be exempt from the charge. This move is part of our commitment to encourage more travel to and from the airport via public and sustainable transport modes, of which two-thirds of our passengers already use. All the details on the incoming drop-off charge can be found here: londoncityairport.com/parking/drop-o…

@Readingfanman Maybe they will simply switch the enhanced fun to the pitch as the weather only allows for one enhanced fun per stadium? But then again…

Terminal tenner! Airport drop-off charges to hit £10 as Gatwick hikes its driver fee by 43%. Starts 6 January 2026 (on that day Wizz Air has a flight to Krakow for just £13.99). Standard fee elsewhere: £7. Gatwick blames rise on doubling of business rates. independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

@SimonCalder It’s time for government intervention and airport parking to be regulated. Our charter is asking for a fair fee

@Gatwick_Airport 1.5m BTA member passengers through Gatwick annually. Conservative estimate: UK businesses paid £3.15m in drop-off fees. New charge raises this to £4.5m - a £1.35m increase for nothing extra.

Our forecourt drop-off charge is changing from 6 January. The minimum charge to use our designated drop-off zones will increase to £10. You can pay online, over the phone, or by setting up an AutoPay account. You can still drop off for free in the Long Stay car parks. Blue Badge holders also remain exempt from the charge.

Airport drop-off fees: rip-off or useful pro-public transport nudge? London Heathrow will raise its charge to £7 from 1 January (up 40% in four years). London City is bringing in a fee by the end of the year. Among big airports, the standard fee is now £7. independent.co.uk/travel/news-an…

In January, if we got a decent offer (£10-16m) for Haji Wright, would you let him go? (On the promise he’s replaced) You can’t vote on your own poll so for me, I’d learn to drive just to be able to drive him there myself. #PUSB #SkyBlues
