15. @salomonsen_p WebAssembly Music started in 2018, creates music in the browser using Javascript and AssemblyScript code. Music files are so small they can be stored directly on the NEAR blockchain.

NEAR as a protocol should stick to one narrative and stop searching for niche solutions. From the beginning NEAR was a blockchain with horizontal scaling through sharding! The consensus, asynchronous runtime, parallel compute and storage were all designed with scalability in mind. Just add more shards, reshuffle accounts and you get more throughput. Async runtime had challenges which led to the current state where it’s more complicated to design defi applications than an atomic state, but a lot of apps don’t need it. With zkproofs and stateless validation the sharding becomes more robust and scales nicely without compromising security. Soon the execution would move to ZK VMs and the async runtime would not be an issue anymore. At some point all you would need is a scalable settlement layer with fast finality and message passing delivery guarantees. And that’s what NEAR is designed for. So I would suggest not to search for the next thing, and don’t say that NEAR is a BOS, an AI chain, an open web layer, a DA or other applications, but instead hit the original message for the protocol: NEAR is the horizontally scalable blockchain!
