We had a fantastic morning at @GAAshton_news last Friday to celebrate all things science! The children carried out a number of experiments involving reflection and refraction, testing acids and alkalis and exploring different gases! 🎉 Thanks for having us!

Last Friday, Holden Clough were very lucky to have the wonderful author, Terry Caffery, in with us to inspire us with his marvellous and witty poetry! 🎉🎉🎉

Y6 really enjoyed their visit from the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue service this week. They taught us all about the dangers surrounding open water, especially during the summer and how we can stay safe and avoid getting into difficulty .

As part of our Eid celebrations this afternoon, year 6 children were given hennas - which turned out amazing! We were also lucky enough to receive some delicious food to share and enjoy , which parents kindly cooked for us.

This afternoon, as part of Science week, we really enjoyed having a teacher from Great Academy in school with us to teach us all about the solar system. Children re-enacted the solar system and they created their own sundials. ☀️#MadScienceWeek

We had some very creative word choices for our Vocabulary parade. The children also visited the library at Great Academy where they created their own trump cards, based on some of their favourite book characters, and played Top Trumps with them. 📚📚📚 #WorldBookDay2024

We have had a great day learning about Chinese New Year: sharing experiences and learning from one another.

This week in EYFS, we made a Kindness Garden. We created a flower each time somebody was kind to us. We have loved watching our garden grow as kindness blossomed further. #childrensmentalhealthweek #eyfs #wellbeing #kindness
