Who is the genius at Apple that made it impossible to move an app on your phone to a group that is at the end of the row? It just flips back and forth between the next row and is virtually impossible.

@AlZeidenfeld @RaphisReedik Voting is a right, but like gun ownership (background checks) or assembly (permits), it can have reasonable safeguards. SCOTUS upheld voter ID in (2008). Fraud prevention isn’t a “hurdle,” it’s common sense.

@RaphisReedik It’s a dumb argument. Those things are commerce, this is an inalienable right afforded to all us citizens in the constitution. Placing poll taxes or hurdles in front of voters to perform a right is unconstitutional.

I’d be all for Voter ID if: - The ID was issued to every eligible voter for free (it’s not) - There were zero hurdles to attain one (there are hurdles) But most importantly, if voter fraud was ACTUALLY an issue and not some made up bullshit. It’s not.
Matt Hume@mhume615

@AlZeidenfeld So are you against voter id? I struggle with the idea that we need to show id for most things, why should voting nit be one of them? Even if voter id doesn't make elections more fair, isnt having elections seem more fair be a net positive?

@wesbury The risk isn’t AI making decisions. The real risk is outsourcing judgement. If AI was only trained on First Trust’s 2025 S&P 500 forecast what investing advice would it be spitting out at us?

Are we sure we want AI doing routine business tasks? Maybe. But what about making actual decisions with the data those tasks produce? I still want humans doing that…otherwise we end up with really lousy decision making. LLMs just scrape the web… 1) They believe that QE and TARP saved the US economy in 2008/09, not the change in mark-to-market accounting. 2) They believe that masks and 6-foot distancing stopped COVID from being transmitted. 3) They believe that mRNA jabs really were vaccines. Even though the CDC changed the definition of “vaccine.” 4) They believe climate change is a danger to the planet. 5) They believe that solar and wind power make sense, in spite of the evidence that they only get built b/c of subsidies. 6) They believe there is no difference between XX and XY, and it is really a personal choice. 7) They believe America is a racist country. 8) They believe that communities are shareholders in private companies and that profits are proof of greed. 9) They believe government spending causes growth, tariffs cause inflation and that the money supply doesn’t matter. So, garbage in…garbage out. If these AI Large Language Models are consuming nonsense how will they ever think their way through a problem? I, for one, am not looking forward to a world controlled by consensus thinking forced upon me by computers.

Jason is completely wrong. You’re a sharp guy but this take is clueless when you’ve never run a business with hundreds of hourly workers. American entrepreneurs aren’t “causing” illegal immigration. I run companies with ~700 hourly employees. We pay fair, competitive wages—often well above market. Post-2020, we increased pay dramatically in many spots (higher than revenue growth in some cases). Still can’t fill roles. It’s brutal. Why? Not stingy owners refusing to pay. It’s able-bodied Americans opting out because the welfare/entitlement stack (unemployment bonuses, EBT, housing credits, etc.) pays better than showing up for a real job. Leftist policies turned staying home into a viable lifestyle. Add in the subsidy magnet pulling in illegals, and yeah, the labor pool dries up for citizens who actually want to work. Businesses aren’t the villain here. The government’s free-money machine is.
@jason@Jason

@theallinpod Business owners are the reason we have illegal immigration. They want to pay $15-25 an hour instead of $30-40 an hour for workers. It's really that simple. x.com/Jason/status/2…

@AlZeidenfeld Voting population of the US is ~174 million per census.gov and approximately 154 million did actually vote. Less we forget the number of people that voted for the other side was even less than 77 million

77,302,580 voted for Trump in the 2024 election. There are 330,000,000 people in the US. 77,302,580/330,000,000=23.42% You’re literally mad at math.
You're Reading This@JFantasySports

@AlZeidenfeld See this is why not one likes liberals. Everyone knows what you were trying to do by saying 23.42% voted for him but you are acting like you aren't. Further, you use super strong language "execute" so I'd first have to attack your confirmation bias and warp the discussion.

@AlZeidenfeld @sqsinski Net illegal population rose ~5–6M under Biden. So even with high ‘deportation’ stats, more people stayed than left

@sqsinski Did he have an open border policy OR were they counting people turned away at the border in their "Way higher than Trump" deportation numbers? That is the subject. No pivots. Answer the question.

Biden had an open border AND deported more people than Trump with a third of the budget for Ice WHILE ALSO padding his stats by counting people they turned away from the (according to you open) border? Do you see how dumb that sounds?

@MaxJSteinberg Unfortunately there are lot of parts of the world that don’t follow our crime and punishment guidelines. If you know of a list of countries volunteering to take all these illegal immigrants that also treat them humanely I’m all for that.

@ClubChamp2020 Just don’t send them to El Salvador, send them to a prison that doesn’t commit human rights violations. That’s what I’m saying. It’s like sending a Jewish German citizen back to Germany in 1938 and saying “Well he’s a German citizen! Nothing we can do.”

@ClubChamp2020 Yes our border was a sieve the last 4 years. It would be difficult to have them all have a trial. But it’s wrong. If there’s no trial, people will get wrongly sent to this prison. Imagine if your friend or family member was sent there and didn’t do anything wrong

@ClubChamp2020 I mean, no. He needs to have an actual trial. I personally don't think anyone should have to be subjected to that horrible prison but especially if it's unclear whether he is even part of the gang. There are likely innocent people we sent to this prison which is sickening.
