“So Karina, where are you playing in January?”
“Well, @thewarrenhaynes is taking us to Jamaica, and then @davematthewsbnd is taking us to Mexico!”
Doesn’t feel real, but it is. See you so soon 🇯🇲💜🇲🇽 we’re so excited it hurts.

Thanks Shmiami!! ✨🍕 After the show in Birmingham the other night we got to talking, and arrived at a conversation about switching up the vibe on stage. Beyond the fact that we’ve been in the same configuration for a quite a while now and it’s healthy to switch things up every once in a while, there were a handful of things we talked about that we thought might change the energy on stage in a positive way. The first one was field of vision, and by extension the ability to tune into each other’s energy while playing. This configuration we’re experimenting with lends itself to that in a major way with much stronger lines to each other. In other words, we talked about wanting to try something that felt more like the practice room, where we are more so facing each other and focusing on collective communication and connection. Out of the gate this setup seemed to accomplish this goal. Jeff and Cotter are closer and able to tune in together more readily, Trevor is nestled between the two of them filling out the rhythm section triangle, Trevor, Rick, and Peter are all closer together facilitating feeding off each others energy and ideas more, and Rick and Peter have a much improved sightline to the rhythm section as a whole. Additionally, as far as sound is concerned, there were some technical advantages we foresaw with this arrangement. Trying it out last night exceeded those expectations, as we found ourselves able to hear each other in much improved detail, which makes all the difference when playing in a band. Despite landing here naturally after spending that time talking about a bunch of factors and intentions, we’re aware we’re not the first band to try out a configuration similar to where it landed.. Nevertheless, this setup more or less checks all the boxes we talked about, and we had a total blast playing together last night. It’s likely we’ll continue to tinker with it and try things out, as at the end of the day that’s what it’s all about. However as of now, we’re #stoked to have some more fun playing as a unit this way. Fuck on 🤘

@PhunkyWitch It's almost as if the universe found out I had been given this bracelet and they just stopped playing the song. I was ready all year to jump up and down, laughing while pointing at my bracelet like a dork. Missed opportunity
