Just quickly logged back into @frontierdev Issue Tracker out of curiosity. Wanted to confirm, as expected, that the effort I put into reporting bugs was wasted.

This one would have interested me a few years back. Not for motion simulators, of course. But for my surface navigation overlay. Somehow doubt it will proceed. And if it did, would likely be insufficient for what I wanted anyway. 🙄

Good to see @frontierdev have adopted 2/5 of my suggestions so far. ;) Let's hope they keep going in the right direction. This should have been here since around 2015 of course, but progress is progress.

It's like docking.
There is no point once you know how.
Why bog us down w. "Jump to X sector, and sit w. your pud in your hand for 5K ls until you screw up the approach to a planetary landing

Why, when we have Apex Interstellar, can't we see our NPC co-pilot on a bridge chair and have him or her fly the ship from launch to landing for us?
It seems to me that the only hurdle with this is where to put the command tile in the cockpit interface pane

Yes. Training co-pilots could be an option. Or base on their rank?
What if allowing co-pilot (or autopilot) to fly introduced more risk? Cost extra? Slower travel? Pirates can detect auto-pilot? Something!

@CmdrKhelder @67MistakeNot @EliteDangerous I could go for it if we take a proficiency tests under the guise of training each co-pilot from the fighter to the mothership.
The copilot training is actually an unlock of QOL features.
There is gameplay potential here!

@67MistakeNot @EliteDangerous What I see of how well Apex Interstellar works, there is NO technical hurdle to this.
It can as easily be added to a command tile as it is to an NPC dialog box.
It would be a tremendous gift to the players who actually thinl this game is about, you know, OUR OWN SHIPS
