It was great to meet with some of our future leaders at @RMCCanadaCMR yesterday to share our experience and our vision for the CAF with them. Their enthusiasm was uplifting! Thanks to the RMC staff for supporting and nurturing them throughout their studies.

We train with a purpose. ⚓💪🌊 Crew members aboard #HMCSHalifax recently conducted damage control exercises, including responding to a simulated fire, as part of their mission readiness training. HMCS Halifax is currently with Standing #NATO Maritime Group 1 on #OpReassurance.

Ensuring the RCN has the ability to dive in arctic conditions is a key demonstration of Canadian sovereignty in the North. Climate, distance and logistics are challenges that need to be mastered and FDU Atlantic, supported by JTFN, continues to deliver each year.

We bid farewell to #HMCSHalifax today along with the families of the ship's company, as they departed for Europe on #OpREASSURANCE. Wishing them a safe deployment with @NATO, as they make European waters more secure over the coming months.

Incredibly proud of Cmdre Peats and his RCN and NATO allies Team who led NATO’s standing maritime response to threats to the Alliance during a very challenging pandemic year. At sea, delivering presence and increasing interoperability, they demonstrated Canadian commitment.

I suffer from anxiety. I have panic attacks & I can’t control when they happen. It’s difficult but I know them for what they are. We don’t know each other’s struggles. Please be kind. This #WorldMentalHealthDay it’s critical we look after each other & care for our minds & bodies.

Today wreaths were laid to honour those who served during the Battle of the Atlantic & to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the sinking of the SS Caribou where 136 lives were lost. The sacrifice, courage & perseverance of Canada’s Merchant Navy will never be forgotten.

What a delight to see @HMCSHarryDeWolf entering #EsquimaltHarbour the home of Canadian Fleet Pacific. HDW will be here for a 2 week rest and maintenance period before completing its circumnavigation of North America (though it is really tempting to keep this great ship here!)
