The Islamic Republic of Iran Continues to Target Kurdish Civilians in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq in Violation of the United States–Iran Ceasefire The Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) condemns in the strongest possible terms the sustained campaign of missile and drone attacks conducted by the Islamic Republic of Iran against civilian camps and party facilities on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. These attacks have continued, and indeed intensified, in direct violation of the ceasefire concluded between the United States and the Islamic Republic on 8 April 2026.

She also emphasised that real regime change and transition are immense tasks. I agree with her. Europe achieved unity through diversity. Iran needs the same: a democratic and federal future that respects all its nations and peoples.

Iraqi Arabs in South Kurdistan will slowly take over cities and land if there is no clear long-term strategy by the KRG. Half a million Muslims turned into 46 million in Europe, in just two decades. The same could happen in South Kurdistan at a slower pace, and once people settle, they will not leave and claim Kurdish land as their own. Diversity does not mean importing millions of Arab Iraqis and giving away land left and right. This is a recipe for the future occupation of South Kurdistan. The KRG could change this by granting permanent residency to Kurdish refugees from other parts of Kurdistan and making it easier for Kurds from other regions and the diaspora to live and work in South Kurdistan. However, in this regard, the KRG also ignores advice. With the wrong policies of the PUK in Iraqi-occupied Kurdish regions, and with the KRG ignoring the above-mentioned national security concerns for years, this could become a major problem for South Kurdistan within a decade or two. The Dutch have a saying: “Prevention is better than cure.” Ignoring today’s problems is a recipe for disaster in the future. Unlike the Jewish nation, which lost its homeland but returned to reclaim it inch by inch, the Kurds risk losing land day by day due to misguided policies and the neglect of clear national security threats. #Kurdistan #Iraq

No. There were no security threats to Turkey from Syria, namely from the Kurds. Not a single bullet was fired from Rojava into Turkey. Syria and Israel, however, have been at war. The areas Israel seized were under jihadist, al-Qaeda-linked rule. The areas Turkey occupied were under US and EU-allied Kurdish administration. The people under Israeli control, in this case the Druze, are overwhelmingly supportive of the Israeli presence, and a Druze reverse migration from other parts of Syria and Lebanon has been ongoing. Syrian Kurds under Turkish control; however, were expelled. The Kurdish population in Afrin dropped from over 70 percent to around 15 percent in less than two years. Kurdish language, symbols, education, and institutions have been banned by Turkey in Syria. The names of towns such as Serekaniye and Gire Spi were immediately changed to Arabic as soon as the Turkish army entered. The Druze under Israeli control gained their cultural self-rule for the first time in their history across the Levant. Hundreds of Syrian Kurds have been arrested and transferred to Turkish prisons, and their whereabouts remain unknown. Thousands and thousands of others were killed and executed. Some of them became national symbols, like Havrin Khalaf. Is a Kurd seriously comparing these two situations to claim there are parallels? A bit of common sense, please. It will not turn you into a Zionist simply for stating the truth.
