These papers are the culmination of years of work by the CoMind team, and we're immensely proud of what they represent — both as a scientific contribution and as a foundation for the clinical technology we're building towards.

The second shows that CoMind R1 meets that standard — producing high-fidelity pulsatile blood flow measurements in 25 healthy adults, and demonstrating the ability to detect and localise functional brain activity.

We're proud to announce the publication of CoMind's first two peer-reviewed papers in Neurophotonics. Continuous, non-invasive monitoring of cerebral blood flow at the bedside is one of the most important unmet needs in critical care.

1/ @CoMind_ (CEO @jamesdacombe ) announces over $100M in funding Founded in 2018 by then 18-year old James Dacombe, CoMind has raised $102.5M in funding. The company’s most recent round of $60M was led by venture capital firm Plural, with participation from @localglobevc, Latitude, @OctopusVentures , Crane, and Angelini Ventures. The London-based health-tech startup is revolutionizing how clinicians monitor the brain. Their non-invasive device measures cerebral blood flow, intracranial pressure and cerebral autoregulation without puncturing the skull. The company will use the funds to advance regulatory approval in the U.S., complete further clinical trials and scale manufacturing. Read more: 🔗 eu-startups.com/2025/10/no-dri…

We're excited to announce that CoMind has secured $102.5 million in funding to help us redefine how we monitor and treat the brain. For decades, doctors treating critically ill patients have been forced to compromise when monitoring the brain: use risky, expensive, highly invasive procedures that require drilling a hole into a patient's skull, or rely on inaccurate non-invasive monitoring that can compromise treatment decisions. Our technology resolves this dilemma for the first time. @CoMind_ One, is designed to non-invasively measure three physiological parameters simultaneously: cerebral blood flow, cerebral autoregulation, and intracranial pressure - something that has never been possible before at the patient bedside. Our latest round was led by Plural with participation from existing investors Angelini Ventures, LocalGlobe, Octopus Ventures, Crane, Backed VC and Entrepreneurs First. We will now be completing additional clinical trials, pursuing regulatory approval in the US, and expanding our team (we're hiring!). Plural partner @taavet will join CoMind's board alongside @svennj, General Partner at LocalGlobe, experienced healthcare executive Michael Tarnoff, MD, FACS and Chair of the Board Frank Fischer.

@CoMind_ is hiring! At CoMind we are working to redefine the way the brain is measured and treated to optimise patient outcomes across the care continuum. Our first product is a non-invasive neuromonitoring device, which will be used on patients in the ICU and surgery. In the future, we believe that we will non-invasively measure a large range of physiological signals, present these to clinicians and then use AI to predict future complications to provide personalised treatment plans for patients. What startups are building AI tools for analog design, PCB layout, EMC/SI analysis, etc? If no one’s doing this well, happy to seed a couple of people to build a demo and then trial it at CoMind and Flux.
