Heard a parent spazzing on their kid yesterday walking to the car. Told em “you need to go play on a team with 6-7 players and get your stats up…got me wasting money now to see you score 3 pts” I kept walking but im like…man that seed gets planted into kid’s heads early. Win or Lose..Talent or No Talent…its about “getting your stats up” Coaches can only be as effective as the messages reinforced in the car and at home.

For 30 yrs of being knee-deep in AAU/grassroots ball, I've always thought of it as being the Wild West! But what I'm seeing right now, AAU has NOTHING on the out of control craziness of college basketball transfer portal. It's not sustainable. It's gonna implode if nothing done
