@CoachBCrump No lie coach! Definitely a humbling experience. I never painted again, but I did everything else like I was trying to go pro in it 😂

As a young coach, I have always just shut my mouth and done whatever is needed. I had only ever been at schools with turf fields, so I had never painted. Long story short, we used a grass field by the parking lot for 9th grade because the band would use the stadium after school. (We did varsity/JV in the stadium in the mornings). A couple of us painted/lined it together in the summer. Well, when the paint faded and you couldn’t see it anymore, I decided to take it upon myself to touch it up. It was the first time I painted a field alone. I thought I did a pretty decent job. Fast forward a few days and our varsity head coach was watching our practice film. He turns to me and goes “Blake, who painted this field, Hellen Keller?” (There were some expletives in there as well). I told him it was me. He called me blind and said to call my optometrist. I have not touched a can of paint since.
