High school season. Travel ball. Showcases. Camps. Kids are running on empty. They’re expected to perform year-round with little time to recover, train, or actually develop. More games don’t automatically create better players. More exposure doesn’t matter if the athlete is too fatigued to perform. Tired athletes don’t get stronger. They don’t throw harder. They don’t stay healthy. At some point, we have to ask if the current system is developing athletes or just wearing them out.
