High school sports... make them special-- be vulnerable-- open your program up to the parents. Either give the parents a role- or they will give themselves a role. You pick the culture of your program.

@BrendanKurie @CoachL_BHS Definitely part of the problem but the bigger problem is Catholic Memorial not being D1. Yes their enrollment isn’t quite as large as the Division 1 schools, but they have multiple Scholarship players every year. Teams appeal their alignment to avoid them

Thanks for the coverage Brendan! This piece is particularly mind blowing. Especially considering it was an issue in the last alignment, we had balanced divisions following the realignment, only two teams granted appeals in the spring to D8 and then about 10 teams magically got moved to D8 over the summer, 5 of whom made the playoffs

My daughter played 2 mins vs USC… She ran at 6am that morning She shot over 500 3’s the day before She did PT after and ice bathed After the game, she got in the sauna and ran 2 miles to offset lack of game run. Staying ready is a mindset. It’s not for the weak minded. It’s for the dedicated who see a bigger future ahead and the few that believe they can do the job when called upon.
