@ClintHurdle13 Great stuff. Did you swing at a good pitch ? (Choice) did you hit it hard ? (Technique)

As a hitting coach, I watched players come back to the dugout after making an out. They'd look at me and ask, "What'd you see?" I'd go through the mechanical stuff like back side collapse, front side energy, head came off the ball. Man, it was wearing me out! Finally, I realized I needed to simplify. So the next time a player came back asking what I saw, I just asked him: "Did you get a good pitch to hit?" That usually stopped the conversation. Because if you don't "get a good pitch to hit," it's hard to get a hit. This works in our lives too. Whatever task I take on, I ask myself: Am I putting myself in position to succeed? Did I eliminate distractions? Did I prepare? Did I practice? Am I ready to produce? In life, your "good pitch to hit" probably isn't the same as mine. That's the beauty of it all. I've swung at some bad pitches in my life... so have you. But one bad swing doesn't always end the at-bat. Hitting is a lot like life. It can be simple, but not easy.

Things I once thought I'd never see: A leadoff home run in a postseason game ... By the starting pitcher! But there's only one Ohtani.

It seems obvious but Shohei Ohtani is definitely the best anyone’s ever been at baseball.

Do you know ridiculous it is to start on the bump, strike out the side, then go leadoff the game with a HR!? Shohei Ohtani is the greatest baseball player of all time.

A reminder to public schools and universities considering denying @TPUSA chapters on their campus. Doing so violates their First Amendment rights (see Healy v. James, the SDS case). My firm will provide legal services to any @TPUSA group denied & the school will pay the fee.

You don’t need a Power 4 logo to reach the pros. You need development, playing time, and the right fit. 👇

A high school player called me last week. He had one D1 offer… but wanted to hold out for Power 4. Here’s the conversation that might change how you think about recruiting 👇

When I first started training to throw 100 mph, I was making a huge mistake: I was loading straight into my quad. It felt powerful, but it was actually killing my velocity. Every throw I’d lift my leg, drive my knee forward, and try to feel tension in my quad. I thought that meant I was getting into my back leg. But the more I did it, the more disconnected I felt. My hips started flying open, my direction was off, and I couldn’t block with my front leg. Then I realized what the hardest throwers actually do: they don’t push off with their quad — they push back and down into the ground with their hips and glutes. That’s how they create impulse and get that smooth, explosive drive toward home plate. Now I know what you’re thinking: How do I even do that? Here’s the cue that changed everything for me: Pinch the back hip. When you lift, find the diagonal crease between your thigh and abs and pinch it. You should be able to hold a pen there. That pinch counter-rotates your pelvis and locks you into the hip. From there, all you have to do is get down the mound — you’ll know you’re in a good position to explode at full speed. That one cue simplified what “getting into the glute” actually means. The second I made that switch, my delivery felt smoother, more connected — and my velo started climbing again.

As a condition for ending the Democrat shutdown, Democrats want hospitals paid MORE to treat illegal aliens than American citizens — including young pregnant women. That’s not an exaggeration. It’s written in black and white — Page 57, Section 2141 of Chuck Schumer’s counterproposal. Republicans made it illegal for Medicaid to reimburse care for illegal aliens at higher rates than for U.S. citizens. Democrats are now demanding to reverse that. See for yourself at Speaker.gov

Hey @NFL NOT, the role model I want for my kids. Perhaps you should rethink the path you are taking because most of this nation does not want this crap any longer. The person they chose for this year's halftime show. Will you be watching? 🙄
