I make a decent living but the cost to purchase a home in Los Angeles is a lot more than people realize in 2026. Downpayment, Mortgage, & Mortgage insurance with interest rates at the number they are at along with housing cost. To live in Los Angeles city specifically will cost.

@8th_Sage @kantguardcoach in reality finding a home that will produce a 4k mortage payment in los angeles specifically in todays market is far and few between. Not even trying to argue i rock with rich and Los angeles is an anomaly when it comes to housing. His point is spot on for most of the country

If you got the paper to constantly do that you got the paper to move. That’s why the rent prices aren’t going down, landlords are getting rewarded for this

@8th_Sage @kantguardcoach there's a stark difference between 3k for rent to 5k+ for a mortgage in la which is probably the more realistic option. Take into account down payment amount mortgage insurance on top of mortgage. That 5k is more like 6 specific to los angeles other places he is 100% correct

@kantguardcoach Depends on the region you’re living in. Mortgage in Los Angeles gonna run you 4/5k right now based on interest rates. You can move outside of La but gotta go a decent distance to cut down the cost which could put you further from work. Traffic/commute not ideal
