@coachkou I disagree, the 3-3 stack 3 high gives you similar spacing to traditional mint. Run fits are determined by coverage structure and offensive sets.

I m seeing more and more teams try to run 3 safety defenses with both a 3-2 nickel and 4-2 structure. very few teams are running 3-3 stack it just doesn't fit from a consistent front and fit structure. Very hard to ever be in a true stack in the spread world we live. as a 4-2 3 safety, when and why will you run it. Lanning toyed with it but it was more vs Penn States condensed formations. How do the run fits add it up for you. To me, you need to play a ton more cover 2 in the 4-2 world while in the 3-2 nickel world you can play more cover 2 to the formation strength. Been spending the week studying and would love to hear from coaches on their thoughts.
