We've always had SEL in schools. It was called recess, unstructured play, Music, Arts, Physical Education, Etc. But they've been removed or reduced to spend more time on testing, & then we wonder why students lack social/emotional skills to self regulate, focus, & reduce stress.

Summer baseball coaches: Knock the shit off with hauling speakers to games so each hitter can have a walk up song. It’s annoying. Maybe teach them to play catch first.

Hitters hit. Kids spend 20 hrs a week playing video games, then 45 min hitting & wonder why they don’t have confidence at the plate. Hit ⚾️’s more than you play 🎮 video games & I promise you’ll improve.

Teacher effectiveness is not greatly improved by curriculum, new programs, or initiatives. But, when teachers are respected, valued, supported, & feel like their talents are utilized, then morale increases, job engagement soars, & students benefit too!
