Many of the various coaches associations are discussing whether the current Competitive Balance plan is working in their sport. There is a feeling among many of them that they would like to see changes. Most significantly, there are concerns with teams moving up without winning state titles, and teams being moved up because of one strong class. Desire from many to either increase point thresholds, lengthen time of evaluation (five years is often discussed), or make it a requirement that a team must win a state title in order to trigger application of point threshold.
