One of the hardest parts of coaching is knowing certain chapters eventually come to an end. This AAU season is going to be one of the toughest endings for me in my 10+ years as a head coach. So many of these girls have been with me for years. I’ve watched them grow up right in front of my eyes, not just as basketball players but as young women. From middle school gyms to big tournament stages, from learning the basics to competing at a high level, every step of the journey has meant something. Truthfully… part of me just keeps pretending they’ll all be back next season like always. 🥹 But I’m reminded that God places people in our lives for a reason and for a season. I’m incredibly grateful He trusted me with the opportunity to help guide, encourage, and coach these young women through some of their most important years. Grateful for every practice, every road trip, every tough loss, and every big win we’ve shared together. These moments and these relationships are what make this game so special. And I know the impact of this group will go far beyond the basketball court.

Grateful beyond words for the opportunity to coach tonight in the District 15 All Star Game. Being able to share the sideline one more time with my girls and so many incredible athletes from around the district is truly a blessing. Tonight isn’t about drawing up plays or making big coaching adjustments. It’s about sitting front row and appreciating the incredible talent, passion, and work these young women have poured into the game. Thankful for the journey, thankful for these players, and thankful God allows moments like this where the game brings so many great people together. Excited to watch these All Stars compete and enjoy every second of it. 🙏🏀

Good luck to all the teams competing this week in the OHSAA State Basketball Championships. These moments are the result of countless hours of work, sacrifice, and belief. Every early morning workout, every late night in the gym, and every challenge along the way has led to this stage. As Dr. Seuss once said, “You’ll never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.” Embrace the moment. Play with heart. Represent your school and community with pride. Praying for safe travels, great competition, and that God’s purpose shines through every game.

Truly grateful to lead this Ohio Fire 17U team. Most of these athletes have been with me since 7th grade, and my assistant coaches have been by my side for 11 years. That kind of loyalty means everything. My father always told me the greatest trait of a leader is retention. When people stay, it says something about the culture you’ve built together. This Miami team is absolutely relentless. Overtime win on the road to finish off a perfect season. That takes toughness, belief, and a team that refuses to break. Hats off to that group. Incredible accomplishment.

As a coach, I’ve loved watching these playoff games and the execution in late game moments. Just saw a BLOB set with four different progressions and the team stayed patient until the final option opened up. Perfect execution when it mattered most. That’s great coaching and great preparation. 🏀#GrowTheGame📑
