We’re turning youth football into AAU basketball with no real focus on fundamentals. Just argumentative coaches, out of town games, and ridiculous team names.

One of my biggest coaching pet peeves: “My offense.”
 “My play.” 
“My program.” Great coaches say: “Our offense.”
 “Our team.”
 “Our program.” The best leaders don’t build followers. They build ownership. Words matter.

Annual PSA: the average height in the NBA is 6’6.6 and college basketball is 6’5 All 6’0 - 6’6 forwards & posts playing HS basketball do not put all your eggs in one basket unless you’re ELITE (already having offers) and report to the nearest HS FB coach immediately

Things I wish I would have known as a player: How much time the coaching staff spends thinking about what's best for the team.

Somewhere in America 1) a kid is prepared to lie about these being stolen 2) a ref is eager to throw a flag for thinking they’re not being worn 3) a coach is losing his mind over both 1 & 2 4) the pad itself, at its current production size, is not saving a single knee
