Two of the most powerful words in existence—for whatever follows becomes your reality. Helping people to realize that they CREATE their world is a vital step towards change. Ownership of your ability and experience is absolutely necessary if you are to be your best self. One may not have caused the events that have occurred in their life, but the response to those events is our own personal responsibility. You possess the ability to think, do, and be. You possess the ability to choose. You can choose to create the reality you wish to experience, or let the world choose for you.

You’ll be shocked at how much this philosophy can open up your life to deeper connections, self worth, and confidence. It runs contrary to how we are wired, but if you can be intentional and facilitate an “I’ll go first” mentality, you’ll enter a whole new world. It’s uncomfortable, especially in the beginning. No one wants to be the one to apologize first, to break the silence, to have the difficult conversation, to say hello to the stranger, to step up when a situation doesn’t feel right. It’s hard. Yet it’s exactly what allows you to grow into your best. If you can manage to embody this concept, you’ll soon realize the genuine feelings of esteem that accompany it. It’s empowering. Nothing worth having ever comes easy!

I’ve worked with countless people in coaching and counseling who immediately work to tell me their goals and/or dreams. Yet, after spending time getting to know them — it’s clear that their thoughts, language, and actions are no-where near aligned to the extent that it takes to reach such goals or dreams. Bottom line — a lot of people talk, so I watch what they DO. It tells me everything I need to know about who they are and what they’re truly committed to. Reaching goals requires intention, alignment, action, and the discipline to stay the course when everything and anyone are telling you otherwise. #TalkIsCheap

Change can hurt, but so too does the pain of living a life that’s less than you know you’re capable of. While the inside work isn’t for everyone — it’s the door to meaning and fulfillment.

Monday Mojo! Resiliency is more than just being gritty, enduring, or perseverance. Are you utilizing the resources at your disposal?! If not, you’re selling yourself, and your future, short. Whatever challenge you’re facing—ask for help, make the call, go to the appointment, seek out the advice. It’s the most courageous thing you can do for yourself.
