At Hixson, this week was packed with 3 Field Days amongst other various end of the year activities! Each grade level got to participate in their very own Field Day! What a fun and amazing way to end the year! Thank you to all of the staff who made this week possible! 😁 #wgbuzz

ARCHERY UNIT! 🎯 This week, 6th graders are working on their Archery skills via the NASP Program! ❤️ I love it when students have the 💡moment and it all clicks! Continous thanks to @MDC_online & @naspschools for the grants last year to help us get the program at Hixson! #wgbuzz

6th Grade Dance Unit! First, we learned 5 different line dances, danced to Just Dance, & leared how to take our heart rate! Next, we learned Tinikling, a traditional folk dance in the Philippines & jumped rope. Finally we created our own dances for our dance Battle! #wgbuzz

I can't think of a better way to end my day then being pied in the face by students and raising money for a wonderful program! 🥰 #wgbuzz

Today, I had the opportunity to participate in the MDC @MDC_online Discover Nature Fishing Course! 🐟 Excited to bring back what I learned to my students! Big thank you to @shenitamayes for letting me attend this PD! Here is to fishing at Hixson in the future! #wgbuzz

This makes me so happy! 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️🤸 I love that our 8th Grade kickball Tournament Champs are getting a chance to play against our Police Department! Much planning went into our 1st ever Kickball Tournament in the fall. I am glad those students have another chance to show their skill!

Our amazing Librarians made these signs for teachers to hang up showcasing what each teacher is reading! It has been fun striking up conversations with students over what I am reading and what they like to read/ are currently reading! #wgbuzz

When people ask why I teach.. this is the why ^. To provide students opportunities for lifetime physical activity and enjoyment. For archery, you don't have to be the best or most skilled athlete . Plus, it is amazing to see the lightbulb moments when students get it!

Geocaching! What a perfect way to end MAP testing. Students were able to run around in groups, use GPS's, and find caches! We discussed how to geocache outside of school and learned how to use GPS's. Happy Friday! #wgbuzz #geocaching
