Office. 10 minute clean out. Learned a long time ago to leave all trinkets & awards sealed up. Hence, those that enter can keep focus on conversation, not be distracted by fluff. We are not our awards, rather we are all those that rewarded us everyday w/ their grace.

The Bench. Our bench. No way,no how do we make NCAA tourney w/out extraordinary bench, from knowing scouting reports("Shooter on"), to picking up frustrated starters, to getting after 1st team like starved Dawgs, & much more. I hear garbage about "kids these days"-not even!!!

Bam. Mark on the wall. If you don't like that fair enough, if you do, good for you. Indisputable? Really difficult. Celebration, respect, life moves on & so should we.

Speaking up. Truth. May not make a difference in reality but NBA product, from tanking, increased injuries, load management, generic systems of play, The Allstar Game, all factors in many fans being upset. 1st, acknowledge above issues, build a plan, & make corrections.

Steve Kerr: “We need to play fewer games. We need to take 10 games off the schedule. The modern game with the pace and the space I think it would be a more competitive and healthier league if we played fewer games.” (h/t @ohnohedidnt24)

Yesterday-anniversary of Nikola Jokić putting up maybe the most ridiculous triple-double in NBA history: 31 points, 21 rebounds and 22 assists. MVP. Criteria. No one hits all the above categories like Jokic. Insane. His impact stands alone.

Many reasons & influences. Mostly players you inherit touched by AAU ball, international flavor relative to p/r iterations, social media optics: much easier to take what "they" know then do variety. Best guess. Me? Assess talent-strengths & create from there.

@CoachMikeDunlap hi coach. Why is it you think that there’s not much offensive structure or variety except the ballscreen being run in the NBA?

Slippage. Defense. Guarding the ball, stance, sprint, slide, taking pride in keeping the ball in front. Flip it, playing 1/1 & 2/2 so important to keep that in a player's routine. Short & sharp shell drills help keep integrity of D/O.

I remember watching Jon Scheyer play in high school in Illinois. Best high school basketball player I ever saw play live BUT These are not comparable situations. What Scheyer is doing at Duke is nowhere near as impressive as what Brad Stevens did at Butler. Both fantastic coaches tho.

Jon Scheyer improves to 117-24 at Duke after beating NC State 🤯 His 117 wins tie Butler's Brad Stevens for the most by a D-I coach in their first four seasons 🔥

Understand value-weight of living process. "Results fleeting?" Seriously? I don't agree. Love process but also love-love championships. Indelible memories. Process of climbing mountain, fantastic. That said, nothing like view from top, nothing. "All there is?" Nope. Do it again.

Phases of any season, here & now=Refinement. Also weeding out actions that are fluff, no measurable return. Additionally, evaluating player rotations-tweaking minutes played can be quite helpful, mostly coaches shrink bench & give producers more time.

Pressers. Be consistent, stay humble, leave time for media to ask another question. Like public displays of disagreements w/ spouse-DON'T. Leave heavy criticism of players behind closed doors. Another way? Yes. Yet, zero regret when taking high road.

Transformational behavior. Body language. Whether it is on court or outside those lines, handling discouraging things about individual's front door, face first. It takes time to fix poor BL, but well worth it. How? Small steps, turn ball over, sprint back, practice it.
