@dking022 @CoachMikeEllis Not all HS teams will run great sets. Very few HS teams have more than 1 or 2 good shooters so you will see packed in mans and zones with emphasis on just the shooters. IMO It has potential to be ugly basketball. I could be wrong, but once it’s implemented it’s not going away
@coachfano @CoachMikeEllis So you want a shot clock to help prepare the 3% of players that play at the next level? So then if HS has it, shouldn’t Jr High have it? Where do you want to stop this at? AAU should have it, but that wouldn’t matter as most of those teams don’t pass the ball much anyway.
@CoachMikeEllis why push this on all teams? Many teams don’t have players that can create their own shot. Unless you let every HS team recruit who they want/need to play this type of ball, then it’s unfair to force them to play a certain way. Small school have to play with what they have.
@CoachMikeEllis Coach we played Christmas tourney in Taylorville. 35 seconds is an eternity to get a good look, sets a great pace to the game, and takes 4 corners out of play. It’s a no brainer in my opinion to get done asap. I don’t fault any coach who uses ball control but it’s not hoops
