@JFeinsteinBooks Cardinal fan as a kid, one of my favorites. We’ve lost Gibby, Lou and now our catcher. Thought he was a great player and color commentator. Loved his stories about hating to go to the mound when Gibson was pitching

...to being a wonderful person when I got to know him. Funny, honest and was great to me when I did his TV show. He was a terrific player; a better analyst and the best as a human being. This is a very sad day.

I'm devastated to hear the news about Tim McCarver. I know there are those who didn't love him as an analyst--I did. He never second-guessed; he first-guessed. He said things I hadn't thought of--and I know baseball. He was one of those people I admired who more than lived up...

So now the draft experts are speculating on who the Jets should draft as QB. I've got an idea: trade down for the last pick in the draft and take the next Brock Purdy. Given Jets' track record, can only be an improvement.

Congratulations to Air Force for winning CIC for the first time since '16. Typical low-scoring CIC game; Army simply didn't have enough offense to win the game. Defense was excellent. Anyone besides me notice all the empty seats? This should be a home-and-home series.

@JFeinsteinBooks Vin Scully was awesome. I grew up a Cardinal fan and have always been a huge fan of Jack Buck. Vin might have been the best. Who is going to replace these two?

Vin Scully was such a mensch. One of those guys who was absolutely the best at what he did but treated everyone he met with respect and kindness.

So now the agent for Miami's Isaiah Wong is threatening to have the kid transfer if the school doesn't get him a better NIL deal (which Florida law doesn't allow). GREAT idea by Rice commission to recommend that players be allowed to have agents while in school...
