OL play nowadays is so focused on “the perfect set”. The aggression has even been taken away from pass pro. Very rarely do we see these young guys with strong anchors and anger in the run game. OL play shouldn’t be a game of “who can get further into the backfield first?” Have a violent jump set. Shock rushers with your post. PUNCH GUYS. Stop just trying to get hands on…Sigh. Football is a violet game. You stack wins by being violent. I don’t care how many times you pass the ball. All 11 players need to have a little hate in their heart and violent tendencies on the football field.

It’s administrative leadership like this that I hope no coach or teacher ever has to encounter. When decision-makers can’t recognize the inherent value of school athletics, it reflects a painfully narrow view of what education is supposed to accomplish. At that point, you start to question what qualifies someone for a “leadership” certificate in the first place. Leadership isn’t about trimming what’s visible. It’s about understanding what actually drives culture, connection, and student growth — and having the vision & conviction to protect it.
