🚨 Attention D3 WBB Coaches! As some of you know, I've been given the opportunity to be part of the team at Ignite D3 Events as we launch several top-notch D3 classics across the country over the next few seasons. Using my experience with the @TUHoopsClassic, it is my hope to provide more teams, especially in WBB, with those sorts of marquee non-conference scheduling opportunities. While I'm not making the trip to Phoenix this year, Paul Combs, the founder of Ignite, is there and hosting an event tomorrow open to ALL D3 coaches. Below will be a thread of 8 leadership lessons that I learned while attending my first Final Four. Vital information that I wish I knew prior to attending.

D1 basketball runs on the crazy and unseen work of managers and GAs. It’s sucks seeing so many left behind during the Final 4. It’s the biggest networking event in the sport. If they help build the program, we should help build their future. Get them to Indy!

Rule #1 of the Final Four…. don’t be a logo chaser!

Young coaches, just a reminder… conduct yourselves at the Final Four as if your future boss is watching you… because there’s a good chance he is! Have a good time, but keep the main thing the main thing. Looking forward to making new connections this weekend 🏀🤝

🏀 Networking Tip for Aspiring & Young Coaches! ✈️ So many coaches will fly into Phoenix (MBB is in Indianapolis) next week for the Final Four looking to build connections (network). ‼️ My belief is that many miss out on one of the greatest networking opportunities, which is the juco national tournament. This year it’s being hosted in Lake Charles, LA (MBB is in Hutchinson, KS). 🫡 Every year 100+ College Coaches go to this event and sit in one arena all day. There are guaranteed a 15min halftime and 20min break between games, 4 games each day. 🤝 If you go to this event for just 2 days, introduced yourself to a coach between each of those breaks and asked deliberate questions… I would bet you leave with 15-20 new connections that are deeper then any new connection you would make at the Final Four… and it’s way cheaper!

It’s been reported that both Ryan Moesch & Parrish Edmond have reopened their recruitment following Gerry McNamara’s departure from Siena. Two very talented prospects that will surely be receiving calls from college coaches if they haven’t already. @NERRHoops

Coaches, as you prepare for the final four, here’s some considerations: - Try to make 5 meaningful connections, instead of 20 new introductions. - Attend socials and gatherings - While it’s a party for some, it’s an interview for you. Remember that. - Try to get a meal or coffee with one person every day. - Write handwritten notes to everyone you meet. - Attend as many clinics as possible. Job opportunities wont matter if you can’t coach! - Check out the final four practices. Great free opportunity to learn. - Learn to self promote without looking arrogant. In this business, you have to self promote. - Don’t just meet coaches. Meet ADs, agents, support staff, vendors and more. - Stop by Synergy to say hello to my brother @Curley_Synergy. - Have fun.
