@AKSportsReport The Nanooks will be returning three starters, and eight member of last years roster. I realize you only cover one team, so I figured I would let folks know.

Last summer we ran over 15 camps throughout Alaska, impacting over 1.2K 🏀 players. 1 camp was run in Haines. I took Mike Miller. He spent 3 days working w/ this young man. Mike made quite an impact. How many NCAA DII programs have kids 700 miles away following their heroes? 🔥💯

We strive to take this picture and share it next season. I take three things from this picture: This coaching staff is doing a great job, and these young men have strong people in their life who are providing great wisdom and these dudes are mature enough to listen.

My sophomore year, my coach - the great Norm Persin - told 15 year old me I “couldn’t guard a fucking snowman with no arms” in the middle of a game and broke his marker he was bashing it so hard on the clipboard as he screamed it into my face. I went on to be a 2x top 100 underclassmen showcase invitee, 2x all state, district player of the year, etc. after that moment. Yeah, I think kids could probably use a little more of this kind of coaching.

It's always a good idea for the coach to have a goal with every interaction they have with their players. Whatever Pitino wants from his player, do you think this is the **best** way to get him to change the way he's playing?

Facts. I keep hearing players tell me they want to be pros, and then leave for situations, or consider leaving for situations, that will not help them in that journey. Be DII star, POY, 1st All Conference, put up big #s. So many guys w/the wrong people in their ears.

Seeing a lot of D2 guys enter the portal & get mainly low major D1 interest. Are they keeping big picture in mind? Little to no NIL $$ at those levels of D1. If the goal is to play overseas, what’s the best route? Rotation guy in a LM/MM league or being a 20 ppg guy in D2?

Had the opportunity to 👀 South Anchorage boys at the Alaska 🏀 Academy Team Camp last June. It was obvious then that they would be a handful this year and now here they are in the state finals. Congrats to Coach Siah. Love seeing teams who attend team camp doing great things!
