Tell me you drove from SoCal to AZ without telling me you drove from SoCal to AZ! I can assure you that there are now several thousand fewer bugs in the world!

saying the right thing feels impossible at times like this. March 17 2026, my best friend unexpectedly passed away. My emotions come in an unexplainable way and it all came too soon. Our laughs and talks will always be a lighthearted memory and im so grateful to have a dad who is also a best friend. Everything is for you now dad. I know you’ll be watching each game i play from here on out in heaven cheering me on. I will never stop pushing for you. I love you. #myheromydad #mybestfriendforever

When we would play golf, a friend of mine used to say to me, "I don't know how you play with those clubs!" because I was not using state of the art technology (I used to be a good golfer but was only playing a few times a year then). I would respond to him, "Bill, I really don't think my clubs are the limiting factor in my performance at this point!"

For elite performers, it makes sense to chase the shiny objects, the minutia that may not actually help For the masses, it doesn't Elites have already tapped out the stuff that makes 99% of the difference The masses haven't. They often shortcut the basics for the final 1%

I’m in the bathroom… my Velcro child comes to the door and asks ‘Mom, you need space?’ Yes, mommy needs space. She says ‘okay!’ And runs off. Who knew that’s all I needed to say was I need space.

Happy International Women's Day to all! Through softball, I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had to work with, coach, & mentor some amazing women, many of whom are lifelong friends. Make everyday women's day by valuing, respecting, and appreciating women every day!

MLB hitters make mistakes all the time. But you'll never see how they deal with it if you only watch the Instagram highlights.

This is a common pattern I see in my work. A parent reaches out asking if I’d work with their child. A head coach reaches out asking if I’d work with their team. In both cases, usually the most impactful (and necessary) work is with the parent and the coach, not the athletes. So maybe the question isn’t just how we develop the athlete. It’s how we develop the adults leading them.

Great advice from one of the best, @aj_andrews_! Softball, success & failure, & winning/losing matter. We care about those things & we should. However, if we lose perspective & tie our entire identity & self worth to those outcomes, it becomes problematic. Care a lot while maintaining perspective and remember that softball is something we do, not who we are!
A.J. Andrews@aj_andrews_

Dear athletes, You are not defined by the outcome of a play, AB or game. Your injury is not a summation of what you can’t do but rather what you’re willing to do to succeed. Please remember you may be the 1% on display but you are 100% human. Take care of you
