I'm sorry, but even beyond betraying her country, this woman is awful. Off the chart levels of arrogance. I don't care how many medals she has, there is nothing about her I would encourage my daughters to emulate.

High school football coaches might have the most important job in any community and it’s overlooked. They set the culture for the largest group of young men in a school. If they build good men, not just wins, that ripple hits families, schools, and the whole community.

I’ll let you know my Thanksgiving secret. When my wife is cooking and asks me to taste test, I’ll take a bite and if she asks if it needs more; salt, pepper, spice, I always say yes. This way I can get a 2nd test bite. Poor lady never gets it right.

@teachthemx3 To be clear, this happened with counselors. Admins in my state need teaching experience and most have been good.

When I taught, once a year the counselors at my school took my class load for a day, 5 periods in a row, to teach a lesson. They would have to mentally and emotionally prepare for days. By the end of the day they were left exhausted, frustrated, and drained. I’d remind them I did this daily, and if you can’t hack it, stop having strong opinions on how I manage my students.

A teacher at my school came into my room after dismissal yesterday and showed me an email she received (summarized with her permission, student’s name has been changed): Counselor: Johnny’s parents are concerned because he’s only failing your class. Any idea why? Teacher: Attaches detailed phone log of conversations with parents sharing her concerns about the student sleeping in class and playing games on his Chromebook instead of working. Teacher also shares the 2 office referrals for cheating which resulted in zeros for test grades. Counselor: We’re going to allow him to retake the 2 tests he cheated on. Additionally, please make arrangements with the student to attend your after school tutorials and re-teach the lessons so he can make up the additional work he is missing. She didn’t even reply. She’s genuinely considering not coming back after Thanksgiving break.

@Kristin35688202 @teachthemx3 Good for you. 1 was a secretary turned counselor, the other previously taught at a different grade level in a different setting, not at a HS in a city. Double or nothing?

@CoachRobEDU @teachthemx3 I'll take things that never happened for $100. Most counselors do teach classes, I used to volunteer to teach classes when someone was out.
