1-0 isolation drills around cones or garbage cans does absolutely nothing to help a player develop. Better off playing 1 v 1 for an hour and call it a day if that’s the case.
@GusGymnopoulos I don't like zone too, but it's apart of the game. Have your team learn to beat it and other teams will be forced to play you man to man.
My daughters team (Grade 6/7) played 6 games this weekend (which was rough to begin with) and all 6 opponents played 2-3 zone. Our team didn’t play even 1 minute of it.
A plague!!
@GusGymnopoulos at what level are these coaches you talking to? I myself only know some Hedge recover, switch, blitz and Ice. I'm a junior coach and i don't know everything. We cannot assume just because you don't know what to do when covering a ball screen will determine all their knowledge
I swear GTA has the most non basketball- basketball people. I just ask them what type of ball screen coverages they run? Convo usually ends real quick.
Advice for young 🏀 coaches. If a player or parent asks you why they (or their kid) isn’t playing more minutes…… just ask them “who should they be playing more than?” and then let’s go talk to that person and tell them you feel that way.
So after 2 years of dealing with this pandemic:
1. Can’t get a PCR test
2. Can’t get a Rapid test
3. Health care system still worried about overflow of patients
As a 🏀 coach I have to ask myself?
Where are the adjustments? What did we learn from being down 20 in the first half?
I’ve had two families commit to my Grade 8 team only to shop around, take a spots from other potential kids, and then go elsewhere. This level of dishonesty and selfishness is disturbing. Don’t come to me in September 2022 asking for favours.
You’ll have to go pay to play !
@John_Leonzo just want to say that I saw your program online and it's amazing! I run DDM and I would love to learn more from you. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.
