The more I watch the NCAA tournament, the more I notice the game is being dominated by the guards and the bigs. Guards with the downhill, midrange, and 3 ball game that can score off the screen and roll are definitely making a difference. The bigs that can hit the midrange shot, rebound, finish, and help on defense separates the mid majors from the high majors. Get your ass in that gym and focus on skill work and fitness. Lifting weights is just as important as playing 5 on 5. I don’t see players taking too many shots with a hand in their face.

After watching these games over the past 3 days, there’s no doubt Nasir Washington can help a lot of these teams win. I think he’s a Power 4 player that will be an immediate star at any other school.

The Donafrio tournament is one of the best single game elimination tournaments in the country. It’s been in existence for over 50 years. My team is Cool Hoops and we made it to the finals a few times but never won it. They always have us faces the toughest teams early year in year out.
