Took a break from the traditional bench press primer in the weight room. Sled upper push to half court. Reverse bear crawl to baseline. 5 MB chest pass. Pick up towel & sprint back to half court. Sled sprint to return home for next person. 2 rounds. Until next time, doggies.

If your morning lift feels sluggish this winter, send them outside in the cold for 30 to 60 seconds. Quick reset. Not punishment. If warmups aren’t on key or sluggish send them out, give them something random to find or tag and bring them back in fired up.

The kids I’m always most excited about are the ones who make consistent progress in-season. Because you know that once they have some time down, their numbers explode. It’s always cool seeing that immediate jump 1-2 weeks post season when they just PR for about a month straight

Keep in mind extensive plyos aren’t just pogo variations! We have 3 lanes for extensives; SPRINGS - reactive SSC; lots of pogos SHOCKS - eccentric/attenuating focus: deep range bounce MIXED - full range but balanced SSC between attenuating and potentiating; rhythmic plyos

You don’t need deload weeks in high school training: Winter break Random week off due to weather Spring break Finals May break 4th of July break August break Thanksgiving break Finals That’s 11-12 off weeks a year. When it’s time to train, you’d better train.
