@jalil_anibaba4 @MLS @CanadaSoccerEN vs. Venezuela one the most intense high paced game I’ve seen in a while. Like American college soccer intense. Quality level is CONCACAF. Not CONMEBOL. Canada finishing is shocking.

@BeneSB_ I agree 💯%. For me, it was more on what I discovered vs what is effective and efficient in teaching players. However, an experiential context was created that led me this. I’m sure there another discovery for all of us in the horizon! Less is more when you know where to look.

The more I coach, the simpler my coaching becomes. I do less and less different things. I reduce it to the essentials. ⏺️ Deleting vs. Adding. Better coaching is about deleting, not adding. Over time, you boil down your coaching actions to a few decisive ones. Looking back a year or more, I've removed more than I've added. Principles and exercises that I once considered indispensable, I now consider unnecessary. Fewer principles. Fewer exercises. 90% of coaching is focused on same things: 🔹Position. 🔹Timing. 🔹Direction. 🔹Pass quality. 🔹First touch. 🔹Focus on the action. (Don't get distracted by external things). There is no need to add fancy things. The game itself adds complexity. Help the players to play simple in more complex situations (less time/space). If the simple things are right, everything else falls into place. “Somebody taught me a long time ago a very valuable lesson which is if you do the right things on the top line, the bottom line will follow.” - Steve Jobs. ⏺️Simple is hard. Don’t confuse simple with easy. To make it simpler, we must first complicate it. Then we can delete and simplify. It takes years and years to take something apart to get to the essence. It is hard to make something look simple. David Perell explains this well with Picasso's painting process: x.com/i/status/17825…
