Palo Verde coach Anthony Smith with his senior playmaking captain Kameron Pippen, who had 10 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter of the 66-60 victory for the No. 1 Titans over No. 9 Gilbert Christian. Palo Verde advances to the 3A semifinals against No. 4 Seton Catholic next Friday at 9 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum at Phoenix.

Palo Verde coach Anthony Smith has led the No. 4 Titans (20-5) to the Copper Division quarterfinals after tonight’s 55-52 win over No. 13 Scottsdale Christian. His team will host No. 5 Phoenix Country Day (24-1) on Friday at 7 p.m. The Eagles’ lone loss was at Palo Verde on Nov. 25. They have won their last 23 games. The Titans are 13-1 in their last 14 games. Should be a great one.

Copper Division Quarterfinals - Palo Verde 55 vs Scottsdale Christian 52 @AllSportsTucson

Palo Verde senior point guard Kameron Pippen scored four of his team-high 13 points at the free-throw line in the last 25 seconds to seal the 55-52 victory over Scottsdale Christian to advance in the Copper Division playoffs.
