Well kids, looks like i have to post this again. Hello all, With the 2024-25 school year and HS sports season coming to an end I feel that I need to post this message to get some things clear. I live in Union Co. and have lived here since 1999. I have been covering Union Co. high school football, basketball, baseball, and softball for 19 years. In those 19 years I have seen Union Co. grow from 6 high schools to 11 high schools and I have done my best to expand my coverage of the 11 school’s athletic programs. In those 19 years the support from Union Co. for the websites/coverage has been mostly positive. Over those 19 years I have received nasty emails along with Facebook & Twitter DM’s from parents, that was to be expected you can’t make everyone happy. But it’s starting to get out of hand. I have had multiple parents tell me how I am biased to one school over another school or one side of Union Co. to the other. How I favor a school over other schools because I have kids that attend it (I don’t have any kids). How I don’t write about this kid or that kid and favor one kid over another. How I didn't choose this kid or that kid for an award because of a multiple of reasons, including being called a racist. I must admit my favorite was “You’re ruining Union Co. high school basketball!” Those accusations are irresponsible, sad, and WRONG. 99.9% of these kids are NOT going to play in college and are NOT going to play professionally. I try to make the final four seasons of their varsity athletic career good positive seasons. If you and I are “Facebook friends” and you don’t like what I post and it upsets you, unfriend me. If you follow me on Twitter (X) and don’t like what I tweet and it upsets you, unfollow me, block me, mute me. It’s that easy. So you can hear me in the back……..Parents/Relatives DO BETTER! 1. I am not affiliated with any school and never have been, so there are NO “politics” at play. 2. I volunteer my time and effort and will continue to do so. 3. All the Head Coaches are asked to nominate player(s) and then all decisions are made based on their Coaches recommendation, my evaluation of their skills, contributions, stats, awards, and their teams won/loss performance over that season. 4. If you disagree with my selections, this is America, feel free to create your own website(s), watch the 40+ games, broadcast 30+ games, compile the stats, PICK YOUR AWARDS, and publish the info and then EVERYONE CAN GET AN AWARD! @DetSparty_ Kids staying in college longer than other schools & a team that’s built a culture that’s prompting kids to stay longer shouldn’t be embarrassing. They have an amazing staff, culture, & school that makes kids want to stay longer or entices experienced players to transfer in.
