Say it with me now. A coach holding you to a standard is not being mean.

Jumping straight into AAU after a long high school season is both unsafe & irresponsible. Programs that truly care about the mental and physical health of their players understand this. Rest & recovery are essential for real growth. Basketball should challenge athletes - but it shouldn’t be a nonstop, year-round marathon.

A high school basketball coach’s dream isn’t just to hang banners — it’s to teach young men and women life through the game. Basketball is the classroom, and every practice, every drill, every tough loss is a lesson in resilience, teamwork, and heart that’ll last forever.

Parents who allow their kids to be coached hard are giving them a gift most young people today never receive — accountability.

@Uorangemen2 Young kids are chasing the clout. Want to tell their friends they play on a high level circuit. Instead of focusing on getting better everyday. I can promise you college coaches don’t care what circuit you play on if you can hoop you can hoop💯

Think about this: Why do we want a credit score? To go into debt. Why do we want to go into debt? For a higher credit score. Why do we want a higher credit score? To have more access to debt. Why do we want more access to debt? For a higher credit score. The only way to achieve and maintain a high credit score is to go into debt, stay in debt, and continually pay your debt accounts “perfectly,” without adding too much debt or paying too much off too soon.

This transfer stuff in high school has to stop. Here is a novel idea, grow and develop where your feet are. Learn work ethic, accountability, and leadership skills instead of running away when you don't get your way. This also goes for parents. The grass isn't always greener
