My Uncle, Henry James Kyzer wore these dog tags when he landed on Omaha Beach 80 years ago today. He survived the war, so did my other Uncle Wheeler B. Leeth, who jumped with the Army’s 508th Parachute Infantry Division, in the early morning hours of D-Day June 6, 1944.
