BREAKING: UT-Permian Basin has announced the hiring of Lubbock Christian Head Coach Chris Softley as their new Head Football Coach and third in school history. In nine full seasons (2016-2025), Softley compiled a school record 101 career wins and won 82 percent of his games (101-22). His teams had eight double-digit winning seasons in nine years and posted six straight years of top-four finishes in the state. He led his teams to seven district championships, eight area championships, seven final four appearances, four State final appearances, and two State Championships (2022, 2025). One of the best leaders in the TXPS ranks is moving up to the collegiate ranks. Congrats and best of luck, @CoachSoftley!
