A great honor to be the 1st ever back-to-back winner of this award. Only possible with phenomenal players & an awesome administration backing me. To paraphrase one of my favorite coaches - “We do it for the name on the front of the jersey AND the name on the back.” We will work endlessly to make LSU Eunice and the whole state of Louisiana proud 🙏⚜️💜💛 … and also for these special players - there’s nothing better than seeing them grow, achieve at a high level 🏆🏆, and see their families be proud of them. LSUE ran through the LCCAC undefeated with a 30 point average margin of victory. He’s the first to win COY honors in consecutive seasons.

Pet peeve after offering a kid a scholarship… Comment from Current Adult in their Life: “Congrats! First of many! Can’t wait to see the many more offers to come!” Me: “How about I withdraw my offer & leave y’all to go collect 100 more offers to feel validated? 🤣” Moral of the story — You need the ONE right offer to have a successful college career, not 100 offers to get likes online. Don’t push kids to collect a million offers just to have them. You want the RIGHT offer to go have a successful, fulfilling career!

@Coach_Beckmann What a GREAT post and interesting view points! Accepting and stating that they received and offer is valid. Congratulation! Whether it influences other schools to jump on board is debatable. And it doesn't count until signing day so he or they can back out.

I’ve never actually pulled an offer, because I try to give the benefit of the doubt and assume the best from all parties. Point of the post is that it doesn’t come off the best. Just advice to not celebrate an offer by talking about other potential, currently non-existent offers.

@Coach_Beckmann To threaten to pull an offer because a parent or coach celebrating in a manner you didn't like is pretty insecure. Saying 'more to come' is a euphemism. It's not asking for insincere offers meant to place hold or placate an athlete.

Insecure coach gets sour because parents, coaches or friends of an athlete congratulate them on social media. How about this, coach, trust the adults in their life will also know who's sincere and who's just hopping on. If you're truly into and good at building relationships, you won't care. The adults in their life, it's not their task to advocate for you. It's their task to advocate for their child or player.

@NoFreeSpeech22 Know what? Not sure what you’re talking about. You may have misunderstood the post. I’m saying if a kid posts celebrating an offer, help them celebrate THAT offer. Don’t start talking about hypothetical future offers that may or may not come. Be excited for THAT offer with them.

@Coach_Beckmann Yeah but I've also witnessed this scenario 1st hand a few times within the D1 college ranks. Verbally commit a kid early. Then right b4 the NIL signing the university de-comitts the kid. They'll over "verbal" kids & cut them loose right b4 signing day of their Sr year #MNSU

For some - more offers are to come. For some - that may end up being their only offer. But the focus should be on being excited for the kid and celebrating their offer with them. Why start talking about future hypothetical offers that may or may not come? Never said you need to reserve congrats until receiving multiple offers. Or that getting multiple offers is bad.

@Coach_Beckmann That’s weird energy. Typically a kids first offer is a sign of more to come because they’ve finally got attention or recognition. There’s no requirement to reserve congratulations until they get two or more. Weird
