My 8th graders are going to track their own data this year. Our goal is to keep scores high or show growth each test!

First review day ✅ We take our Unit 1 and 2 exam tomorrow and these kids are ready!

My main worry is always losing my students’ attention or having them dislike history but I know I’m doing something right when they ask if my class is shorter than the rest because it flies by. That lets me know they are engaged and entertained. #winning #LoveMyLISD

Lucky enough to have some pretty amazing students who didn’t hesitate to step in and play teacher the past two days. So much engagement and tons of laughs 😂

Here is another George update...a student made him a necklace and put a mask on him. This is the best 30 dollars I’ve ever spent on my classroom.

I never thought my students would love a cardboard cutout this much. Our writing prompt was about George Washington so this student moved him next to his desk for inspiration 😂

At what point do we call a spade a spade and cancel STAAR this year @GregAbbott_TX? Seems absurd at this point to try and assess our students in such a superficial way. Not to mention all the needless test prep teachers & admin are frantically worried about before test day...

Thank you LISD for the $100 Amazon shopping spree! I felt like this George Washington cut out was a must and so did the 8th graders who helped me pick it out. This is what happened after 4 days of testing 😂😂
