I’m going to answer this for the typical recruit, not 14 year old who looks like Megatron lol It starts with evaluation. Highlights, full game film, camp performance, verified measurables, academics, and background feedback from your high school coach. The position coach decides if you fit their scheme, culture, and developmental timeline. If he believes in you, he pushes your name to the recruiting board. From there, the entire staff (coordinators, HC) evaluates where you rank on their positional board. They’re looking at scholarship numbers, class size, transfer portal needs, and how many players they plan to take at your spot. Recruiting is talent evaluation, but it’s also so much about roster math. If you’re high enough on the board and the numbers align, the head coach signs off. That’s when the offer becomes official. And even after an offer is extended, the evaluation continues. Senior film, grades, and character still matter. Always remember that the offer is just the beginning!

@coachwwest @coachwes_23 What is the process of a coach giving an offer to a recruit?

Couldn’t be more fired up to join the @247Sports team covering all things UCLA football and recruiting. Life has a funny way of bringing you back to where you belong. The Bruin community means a lot to me and holds a special place in my heart. Looking forward to the work ahead.
