@carmelhealth @tcmrsgeddes @podcastbrunch Our school has a program called “Food for Thought.” Concept is teachers and students make a small book club, read it, school pays for food when you meet to discuss it. Great way to reach kids who are interested in reading it vs requiring it.

So this just happened! This process was incredible and made me truly examine myself as an effective educator. I couldn’t have done it w/out the large support group I was fortunate to have and all the people I met along the way! Cheers to anyone receiving scores, passing or not 💪🏻

@HealthTeachVT Thanks for the advice earlier! We’re trying to do the same thing at BBA. We keep health as a required freshman course and that works for us, but an advanced class would be awesome. 8th and 10th is a nice combo as well!

@ShannonSweet2 @cultofpedagogy It's been modified by a teacher printing out compliments on a piece of paper (premade) for students to choose from, and then they tape a compliment of their choice onto the board for their peer. I've also had someone suggest doing that with post it notes.

@ajgadd @cultofpedagogy I've conducted this activity with my middle school faculty and it's just as amazing! I suggest getting two friends ahead of time to agree to volunteer first, so you don't hear crickets when you ask for volunteers. Once they go, the ball is rolling. Enjoy!

@cultofpedagogy @Coach_MacArthur Ever applied this in staff groups?? I feel like, in thinking about educator wellbeing/resiliency, that this low floor high ceiling activity would offer entry points for all staff members to be a little vulnerable in the giving and receiving of compliments. Thoughts?
