"A little bit of knowledge is a scary thing."
May be the greatest lesson I learned from a mentor early in my career as a football coach.
It showed me that we had to know the answers to problems in each scheme or theory on O/D/ and ST's for easy adjustments on Friday or Saturdays!
There isn't some magic front / coverage / or blitz. If there was, everyone would be doing it. The secret is knowing how to fix it SYSTEMATICALLY
Tite fronts are no different. They have negatives, positives, and adjustments. They are especially vulnerable to 4-load formations (Trips with sniffer or attached TE and the back strong) AND 4 man surfaces (Y/Y).
There are THREE different ways to alleviate C/D gap problems in the Tite Front (4i-0-4i) in the Blackout
"Hot The Mike" to 4 Load Str Formations to not allow the sniffer/tackle to wash the 4 tech...get them off doubles
"Trace" the Backside Safety instead of "Poaching" him. More help to the front side of the fit
"Slide" the front to a 4-man surface (Weak Eagle).
