Coaches are uniquely positioned to greatly impact their player’s lives for the better or for the worse.

If your son wants to play college FB but thinks his HS coaches are too hard on him, he probably doesn’t need to pursue college ball…it’s an entirely different level of urgency and intensity. It’s ok to just be a fan. Being coached hard isn’t for everyone and that’s ok.

Your body language tells me everything I need to know about you…in practice, in games, in class, in meetings, etc. It speaks much louder than your words.

Here's an in game example of "creating separation and escaping" by Derek Barnett

🔥If you don’t feel your opponent pushing you off the ball, it’s pass! Don’t stay locked up with him. Create separation and escape by flipping your hips and working and edge. Here’s a drill to practice this by punching, extending and escaping.

🔥”Tough guy” drills like this no longer have a place in football. There are 100 other ways to improve your team’s physicality without injuring or bullying them. Please stop using these.
