@JacobsFieldRBW Gimenez was a platinum glove caliber defender that had shown glimpses of competence at the plate. Those aren't common, and he loved CLE. If this doesn't immediately get spent on a front of the rotation starter or 40 bomb outfielder I may actually combust.

For the record I strongly disagree that the contract was bad considering Gimenez averaged over 4 fWAR per season over the past three seasons.

PSA that “getting out from under the Gimenez contract” is only a positive spin on the trade if Dolan reinvests that money into another player. That absolutely *has* to happen.
