Successful day with MSc student Ollie, trialling USV Piglet, collecting single beam bathy data along @OfficialPCO beach profiles at Beesands. A cost-effective, safe method for collecting post-storm data. @Plymmartech @drtimscott. Time for a bigger boat! 🌊

@anuth_nishal @OfficialPCO @Plymmartech @drtimscott We are trying to drive the boat out in a straight line, from a pre-defined profile. If you line up 2 poles, you know this is straight, and then you can drive the boat out as straight as you can, using the poles as a guide. Otherwise you are just guessing what is straight!

I love the natural world, but sometimes it's no more than a battle for survival.
