Let's say the Cubs run it back and don't trade any regulars from the MLB roster. Given that they want to win 90 games, which prospect(s) do you feel could come up right away and replace a current starter with better results? I can't honestly say I have one.

This is obvs wrong primarily bc of the spin on the ball, Rizzo flat-footed to secure it, Cole simply stopping, etc., but I want to highlight the incredible use of perspective to suggest that Rizzo is just one teeny step away from the base. Look at the red line! It's so small!

It's weird to me that I find this as emotional as I do. I'm not from Oakland at all. Teams move. But man, it just feels like the fans and city were done so dirty and there's so much amazing history being thrown in the trash.

@IvyFutures The problem with the “he hit like Soto for this 6 week period” argument is that’s not how we measure stats. If you’re comparing someone’s peak to another players 162 game average you’re being dishonest. Compare both guys best 6 weeks (and worst) and we’ll see.

The Cubs need an elite bat next season. I usually benchmark that at about 150 wRC+, a figure that sits about the top 7-8 hitters in a season. They absolutely need to add more hitting, but they could have an in-house possibility at need number 1 for next season, an elite bat.
